NEXT RAIN CHANCE SAN DIEGO: UPDATED THURSDAY 3-1-2018

The next storm system is quickly approaching our area (seen on the satellite loop below). This will bring showers to San Diego by Friday evening and Friday night (starting roughly 7-10 PM). Periods of showers and isolated downpours will persist through the day Saturday, though it won't be a complete washout. Rain chances quickly diminish Saturday evening and night. Most areas will see about 0.5" of rain or less, though some could see a little more. Sunday looks mostly sunny and cool.

Snow levels will be 5,000 to 6,000 feet Friday night, then steadily drop to 3,000 to 4,000 feet Saturday night as the system exits the region. Snow accumulations will be mainly confined to elevations above 6,000 feet. I've attached a computer forecast for snow below. Some areas in the Sierras will receive several feet of snow, which is great news!
